Danish Cord (April 5th, 12th, 19th, 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM) with Christopher Solar

In this course you will be introduced to Danish cord seat-weaving, a mainstay of classic mid-century modern furniture. Every participant will assemble and finish a small hardwood stool frame, and then hand-weave the seat with Danish cord. The primary focus of the course is on the seat-weaving and to that end each participant will be provided with a set of stool parts with all joinery pre-cut, ready for assembly. Over the three sessions we'll also discuss design considerations for Danish cord furniture, and different options for weaving with this unique material.
