Common Questions

Can you add me to a wait list?

Unfortunately, we are unable to manage wait lists due to the interest in classes. The best bet to register is to ensure your email is on our mailing list and to check back frequently.

When will you post new courses?

We typically post courses in large batches every couple of months. As stated above, the best bet to find out when new courses are posted is to follow us on social media, check back often, and ensure you are signed up to our mailing list.

Do I need prior experience to take classes?

If a course requires prior experience, we will explicitly mention it in the course description. Otherwise, our courses are suitable for people of any skill level!

How old do shop attendees need to be?

16 years old is the minimum age for any participation in the woodshop. Participants under 18 will require a parent or guardian sign all necessary waivers prior to the student’s participation. Please contact us in advance if you are purchasing a course for someone under 18.

Where is the shop?

The shop is located in the City Centre Building at 250 City Centre Ave. We’re on the second level of the building in Bay #234, so you’ll need to go up the back ramp of the building.

It’s easily accessible by transit right next to Bayview station, which connects with the O-Train and the Transitway.

Is there parking?

We have a limited amount of parking spots in front of the shop, but there is parking available on the ground level of the City Centre building. If driving, we recommend parking down below then taking the stairs up the side of the building to the second level.

Do you do custom work?

We do! We’re happy to entertain questions for custom work and encourage you to fill out the following form in advance so that we have all the information we need. If you’re able to upload any photos that’s a bonus.

I have material to donate - will you take it?

We're always interested in hearing from you if you have a sizeable tree that's already downed, or some milled lumber that you're looking to unload or donate to good use. Please contact us with as many details as possible and we hope to make something happen!

Is there storage room for my projects?

We provide our active members with some storage room for their works in process as well as places to store material and lumber they are about to work on. Additional storage is available for rent from the shop for larger projects or if you'd like to bring in some of your own tools. We ask that you please take your work with you once your membership is no longer active or if you are away for an extended period of time.

Do you sell wood and materials or do I bring everything myself?

Yes! We have basic materials available for purchase at the shop such as sandpaper, glue, screws, rags, etc. We also sell a selection of domestic hardwood and live edge slabs. Members receive a discount on material purchases.
