Women in the Woodshop (Woodshop Basics) (July 19th, 9:00 - 1:00 PM) with Tara Benjamin

Sale price Price $165.00 Regular price

Ladies! This one’s for you if you’ve been keen to try woodworking but perhaps felt too intimidated or nervous to because, let’s face it, woodworking is still a male-dominated space... for now!

In this women’s class, led by Tara Benjamin, you’ll learn the basics of the woodshop. Tara will cover the safe and productive operation of major shop tools while making a simple hardwood cutting board.

This course is a power tool intro for women looking to learn how to properly operate a table saw, planer, jointer and more. This is your first step to learning how to work safely and confidently in a woodshop and make the best use of standard tools you'll find in most shops.

The class will also spend some time chatting through the challenges sometimes faced by women getting into woodworking.

All participants will leave with the knowledge they've gained about woodshop basics, a simple hardwood cutting board they’ll make while learning about the tools and, most importantly, the confidence to keep building!
