You never know when the opportunity to fell a tree or chop some firewood might come about. Be prepared and make sure you've got a great quality axe always by your side.
Join us as we learn about axes, build tools and then shape hickory handles for the last axe you'll need in this life.
We'll start the first night by discussing axes and building the tool we'll use to make the handle. Using the Lee Valley spokeshave kit, we'll finish the night with our tools ready to go.
On the second day, we'll spend the entire afternoon cutting and shaping our handles before mounting the steel body heads.
The heads are manufactured by a local bladesmith named Jeffery Helmes. The 2-2.5lb heads feature a high carbon cutting edge and are of an absurdly premium quality.
Friday, March 10th 6:00 - 9:30pm and
Saturday, March 11th 1:30 - 5:30pm (7.5 hours)
