Hand Tool Basics (October 3rd, 6:00 - 9:30PM) with Matt Wallace

Working with hand tools is about a gratifying experience as there is in a woodshop. Learning how to properly use chisels and planes and how to sharpen tools is a foundational first step to self-sustenance with the traditional workhorses of woodworking. 

This course is an intro course for those looking to learn the basics of hand tools. It will cover things such as setting up and using planes, cutting with chisels, using saws, and sharpening tools to ensure your hand tools are in tip-top shape. 

Participants are welcome to bring in their own tools, however, the shop is equipped with a variety of excellent tools for the class. 

All participants will leave understanding how to use basic hand tools, and will have experience a variety of tools and approaches for getting the most of their tools.
